Why Your Amanita Microdosing Journal Can't Tell You What You Think It Can

That advice isn't wrong, but it treats journaling as a neutral recording device — as if writing down "felt calmer today" simply captures what happened. When 191 people tracked their experience without knowing whether they'd taken an active dose or a placebo, their self-reports tracked what they believed they'd taken far better than what they'd actually taken (Szigeti et al., eLife, 2021). What a Journal Entry Actually Measures
