Dried Chaga (Inonotus obliquus) — wild-foraged from birch trees in the Carpathian Mountains of Ukraine by experienced collectors with over 10 years in the field. Gently dried at low temperature to preserve natural composition. 100% wild Chaga conk — no fillers, no additives.
Chaga (Inonotus obliquus) is a slow-growing fungal conk that forms on birch trees across northern and Eastern Europe and Siberia. Unlike a typical mushroom, it grows as a dense, irregular mass on the host tree — black and charred-looking on the outside, with a rich amber-brown interior. It develops over many years, accumulating the host tree's compounds including betulinic acid, melanin, and antioxidant polyphenols.
Chaga has been used for centuries in Russian, Scandinavian, and Northern European traditions as a brewed tea and daily herbal preparation. It is one of the most studied fungi in modern ethnobotany.
Product details:
- 100% wild-foraged Inonotus obliquus — hand-selected from healthy birch trees
- Ukrainian Carpathians, harvested sustainably — no overharvesting, no diseased trees
- Low-temperature dried at 40–50°C to preserve betulinic acid, melanin, and polyphenols
- Available in chunks, granules, or powder depending on variant
- Available in 100g, 300g and 1kg
How to prepare Chaga:
- Chaga tea (chunks) — simmer 5–10g of dried Chaga chunks in 1 litre of water on low heat for 30–60 minutes. Do not boil. Strain and drink. The tea is dark amber with a mild, slightly woody, earthy flavour. Sweeten with honey if desired. The same chunks can be re-used 3–4 times.
- Cold brew — soak chunks in cold water overnight (8–12 hours) for a lighter, gentler brew.
- Powder — add ½–1 tsp to hot water, coffee, or smoothies. Stir well before drinking.
- Tincture base — used by herbalists as a base for dual-extraction alcohol tinctures.
Storage: Keep sealed in a cool, dry place away from humidity and direct sunlight. Chunks and granules are shelf-stable for up to 24 months. Powder is best used within 12 months.
